Senior Vice President Communications, Roosevelt Institute
As the Senior Vice President of Communications, DeDe Dunevant oversees all communications efforts at the Roosevelt Institute, including digital, editorial, and media strategies. In this role, she supports the communications team in setting and implementing strategy and goals and advises the senior team on organizational communications.
Before coming to Roosevelt, Dunevant was director of communications at Physicians for Human Rights, where she provided strategic brand management and communications leadership to the organization and a global network of medical professionals. Prior to Physicians for Human Rights, Dunevant served as managing director of communications at the Drug Policy Alliance where she led the organization in a comprehensive rebranding process and development of an integrated communications practice.
Previous communications roles include advocating for high-quality pre-kindergarten at the federal and state level with the Pew Charitable Trusts, serving as the senior marketing official for the Peace Corps, and as a program manager for Population Services International, overseeing a social marketing portfolio of reproductive health products in seven countries in West and Central Africa. Previously, she taught English for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guinea, West Africa.
Originally from Los Angeles, Dunevant holds a BA in French and linguistics from the University of California Los Angeles.
