Bill Pitkin

Bill Pitkin advises organizations and foundations on catalyzing social change and equity through research and strategic investments in collaborative leadership and systems and policy change.  A substantial part of his work includes connecting framing and narrative to systems change efforts, on issues such as housing, homelessness, and racial justice.  Previously, Bill was Director of Domestic Programs at the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of domestic priority areas (homelessness, transition age foster youth, substance use prevention and youth workforce development) and partnering with FrameWorks on several projects.  Other past positions include director of research and planning at United Way of Greater Los Angeles, executive director at the Los Angeles United Methodist Urban Foundation and research director at the Advanced Policy Institute in the University of California, Los Angeles School of Public Affairs. Bill received his doctorate and master’s degree in urban planning from UCLA.
