she/her
Afrouz is a Senior Researcher for Frameworks in Australia. With near 15 years’ experience leading various early childhood education and development strategies across Australia, Afrouz has overseen, and managed research, policy and programs aimed at enabling workforce, community and systemic change to promote the importance of early childhood development.
Before joining Frameworks, Afrouz has worked in various government and not-for-profit organisations, including the Centre for Community Child Health and the Queensland Department of Education and Queensland Health, in leading and influencing various community level and systemic change initiatives for improving child and family outcomes. Afrouz most recently worked with the Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership Initiative in the strategic initiation of the establishment of a now Queensland-based systems change intermediary for driving positive outcomes for children, families and communities.
Afrouz’s work is informed by the integration of her professional expertise in the discipline of Organisational Psychology, her skills in social sciences research methodologies and her strategic leadership and systemic change management skills. This approach has enabled Afrouz to think both strategically and systemically, effectively bridging the gap between scientific evidence and system design to drive practical and impactful change.
She holds a Masters in Organisational Psychology and is a registered Psychologist in Australia, currently finalising her PhD in Organisational Psychology and Business at Griffith University in Queensland, investigating the “real lives” and needs of working mothers with children in their early years. This research has been designed to understand the lived experiences of working mothers with children in their early years, in recognition of the complex narrative underpinning motherhood and work, and in honour of the criticality of the ‘early years’ from a child, family and community perspective.
