New Resources Lay Out Strategy To Reframe Adolescent Substance Use
The FrameWorks Institute developed two new reframing resources to change misperceptions about adolescent drug and alcohol use.
Experimentation with alcohol and drugs is assumed to be a rite of passage for young adults—something that is a natural part of growing up. This and other misperceptions about adolescent drug and alcohol use carry significant consequences for healthy development. To change these misperceptions—and build a healthier, stronger, society— the FrameWorks Institute developed two new reframing resources. The first—a research report—lays out an evidence-based strategy to increase understanding and shift public thinking. The second—a communications playbook—shows how advocates in the sector can apply recommendations in the research report to their communications practice.
